Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking a Services Engineer based in Sydney to provide remote, on-call and on-site support for CCS and COM systems within the MTS service environment. You will ensure system availability, diagnose faults, and support testing and commissioning.

Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, system upgrades, documentation, and stakeholder coordination with Metro Trains Sydney and third parties. Suitable for self-motivated engineers willing to roster on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Broad understanding of railway COM and CCS.
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Experience in fault diagnosis and root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of incident management and SLA-based service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Perform remote monitoring, fault diagnosis, troubleshooting and site visits as needed.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, health checks and diagnostics.
• Execute corrective maintenance including root cause analysis and actions.
• Support system upgrades, software updates and engineering changes.
• Provide testing, commissioning and transition-to-service support.
• Maintain maintenance records and stakeholder communications.
• Participate in on-call roster including nights and weekends.
• Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers and customers to resolve issues.
