Job summary

Yarra Trams in Preston, VIC, is seeking a motivated and organised Project Officer to support rolling stock projects across maintenance and workshop operations. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will coordinate activities, support delivery teams, and help ensure projects are delivered safely and to a high standard.

You will work with maintenance planners, workshops, suppliers and stakeholders to manage schedules, risks, governance and documentation, delivering regular reports and supporting

Qualifications

• Experience in project coordination within rolling stock, rail, or heavy maintenance environments.
• Knowledge of project management frameworks and delivery principles.
• Strong planning and scheduling skills with ability to coordinate multiple activities and priorities.
• Experience monitoring risks, issues, actions, and deliverables.
• Well-developed organisational skills and attention to detail in maintaining project records.

Responsibilities

• Support development and delivery of project plans, schedules, milestones, and work packages.
• Coordinate activities across workshops, suppliers, depots, and stakeholders.
• Organise timely supply of materials and parts for production and maintenance.
• Prepare regular reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
• Support labour mobilisation, training coordination, and resource planning.

Education

Electrical/Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent

Trade qualification with leadership experience
