Job summary

ARTC is seeking a Plant Services Engineer to support plant and equipment across our national network. You’ll oversee asset lifecycles, specify equipment, procure, commission, test performance, and manage changes to ensure safety and reliability.

Join a team focused on safety, efficiency, and sustainable rail infrastructure. You’ll travel regularly to metropolitan, regional and remote worksites, collaborating with operations and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with plant, machinery, heavy equipment, rolling stock or similar assets.
• Structured approach to troubleshooting and documentation.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to manage engineering records.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering oversight and configuration management for plant and equipment.
• Identify and evaluate new machinery and solutions to improve safety and efficiency.
• Develop and improve plant engineering processes, standards, and documentation.
• Investigate incidents and failures to determine root causes and solutions.
• Coordinate performance testing, commissioning and interface testing for new/modified assets.
• Review designs, calculations, and drawings from concept to in-service.
• Implement engineered changes and manage continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate testing, inspection, and compliance records.
