Job summary

SMEC is seeking a recent Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join the Rail & Metro team in North Sydney. You will participate in a two-year Graduate Development Program combining hands-on project work with mentoring and structured learning across teams and disciplines.

You'll support design, analysis and documentation on major rail projects, gain site exposure, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Exposure to AutoCAD or Civil 3D (12D or similar advantageous)

Responsibilities

• Support design development, including drawings, models and technical documentation
• Assist with engineering calculations and analysis under guidance
• Participate in site visits and inspections to understand live project delivery
