Job summary

SMEC invites a recent Civil Engineering graduate to join our Rail & Metro team in North Sydney as a Graduate Structural Engineer. You will contribute to major rail projects, supported by a two-year GDP with mentoring, workshops and hands-on learning across disciplines.

You will gain real project exposure from day one, work with senior engineers, and develop consulting skills while rotating through design, analytics and delivery activities within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Exposure to design tools such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D; 12D advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of infrastructure design and documentation.
• Contribute to design development, drawings, models and technical docs.
• Assist with engineering calculations and analysis under senior guidance.
• Participate in site visits and inspections to understand field implementation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project milestones.
