Job summary

SMEC in North Sydney is seeking a motivated Electrical Engineering graduate to join our Rail & Metro team on a two-year Graduate Development Program. You will contribute to the delivery of major rail and metro infrastructure projects, supported by mentoring from senior engineers and structured learning across disciplines.

The role provides hands-on project experience from day one, exposure to design, analysis and documentation, and opportunities to build consulting skills such as communication

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Exposure to design tools such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D (12D or similar advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of real infrastructure projects from day one, contributing to design, analysis and documentation.
• Contribute to design development, including drawings, models and technical documentation.
• Assist with engineering calculations and analysis across roads, drainage or structures under guidance from senior engineers.
• Participate in site visits and inspections to understand how designs are implemented on live projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate design inputs and support project milestones.
• Learn and apply industry standards, tools and best practice through structured development and on-the-job experience.
