Job summary

RISE Ventures is seeking a RAES Business Manager to provide strategic leadership for delivering employment services in Far North Queensland. Based in Pormpuraww, you will lead governance, financial management, and stakeholder engagement with participants, employers and government partners to meet funding agreements and KPIs.

You will recruit and mentor staff, deliver culturally safe programs, and strengthen local employment opportunities while ensuring safety and wellbeing across teams.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated program or business management experience.
• Strong knowledge of compliance, governance and financial management frameworks.
• Experience leading diverse teams.
• High-level stakeholder engagement with remote Indigenous communities.
• Proven ability to deliver outcomes against funding agreements and KPIs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, reporting and presentations.
• Experience with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
• Tertiary qualifications in management, business, social sciences, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure RAES services are delivered.
• Establish governance structures that support accountability, risk management, and sustainability.
• Ensure strong financial management, record-keeping, and reporting systems.
• Oversee delivery of tailored, strengths-based and culturally safe case management and employment services.
• Monitor performance against RAES KPIs and implement continuous improvement strategies.
• Build relationships with participants, employers, community organisations, Traditional Owners, and government representatives.
• Engage with communities to co-design and deliver community projects reflecting local needs.
• Recruit, mentor, and support staff, prioritising local employment opportunities.
• Develop workforce capability through training, supervision, and performance management.
• Ensure workplace culture promotes respect, safety, and wellbeing for staff and participants.
