Job summary

Boral is seeking a Quarry Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations at the Petrie quarry, 30km north of Brisbane, reporting to the Quarry Manager. The role covers maintenance, plant performance, safety, environment and quality control.

The ideal candidate has 5 years experience in mining/quarrying, strong leadership and knowledge of hard rock quarrying and crushing processes; LEAN experience is advantageous. This is a permanent role with career development and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in mining and quarrying.
• Strong knowledge of hard rock quarrying and crushing processes.
• Strong leadership and initiative to identify, manage and solve issues as they arise.
• LEAN Manufacturing experience is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Petrie quarry and surrounding maintenance, plant performance, safety, environment and quality control.
• Lead and mentor teams, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with HSE standards.
• Coordinate with the Quarry Manager to meet production targets and quality specs.

Your next opportunity

Unique opportunity for a driven Quarry Supervisor to join our team on a permanent basis, overseeing the day‑day operations of our Petrie (30kms north of Brisbane) quarry. Reporting into the Quarry Manager, this dynamic and diverse role will support across various key functionalities of the Quarry, including maintenance, plant performance, safety, environment, and quality control.

Your day will involve:

• Demonstrated experience in hard rock quarry operations and/or fixed and mobile plant operations; this opportunity would suit a Quarry Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Maintenance Superintendent, Mining Operator or similar, stepping into the role.
• Demonstrated leadership, people management, and/or mentoring skills, particularly when supporting driving compliance and a culture of HSE & Quality
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, all key when liaising with a number of internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Strong organisation skills, with the ability to drive results whilst prioritising various competing deadlines

What are we looking for?

• 5 years experience in mining and quarrying
• Strong Knowledge of hard rock quarrying and crushing processes
• Strong leadership attributes including initiative to identify, manage, and solve issues as they arise
• Experience in LEAN Manufacturing will be highly regarded
