Job summary

Protech are seeking an experienced Plant Operator for an immediate start at a busy quarry operation located in Ormeau on the northern Gold Coast. This hands‑on role suited to an operator with quarry or mining experience, a strong commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to consistently achieve production and performance targets.

You will work full-time hours, Mon to Fri with potential for extra days, starting from AU$42 per hour plus overtime.

Qualifications

• Current Driver’s Licence and reliable transport (mandatory).
• Experience operating mobile plant in a quarry, mining, civil, or heavy industry environment.
• Experience operating Loaders (with scales), Dump Trucks, or similar earthmoving equipment highly regarded.
• Relevant mobile plant tickets or VOCs advantageous.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile plant and equipment safely and efficiently within a quarry environment.
• Load, move and stockpile quarry materials in line with production requirements.
• Work collaboratively with site personnel to support daily operations.
• Conduct pre-start checks and maintain a strong focus on safety and housekeeping.
• Follow site procedures and contribute to a productive team environment.

Pre-employment medical completed including Drug and Alcohol screening

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Full time hours casual Mon to Fri, with ability to work 5.5 days per week
• Minimal wet weather interruptions
• Ordinary hours starting from $42 per hour+ Overtime rates

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate mobile plant and equipment safely and efficiently within a quarry environment
• Load, move and stockpile quarry materials in line with production requirements
