Nu Quantum Ltd in Cambridge, UK, seeks a Neutral Atom Systems Architect to lead the specification and architecture of a Quantum Networking layer for Distributed Quantum Computing with Neutral Atoms. You will define system requirements, set targets for hardware interfaces, and collaborate with theorists and engineers to deliver scalable QC solutions.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification (PhD preferred) in Physics with applications to neutral-atom quantum computing.
• Deep technical expertise in neutral-atom quantum computing and qubit control.
• Strong laser physics and optical engineering for neutral-atom systems.
• Expertise in high-fidelity neutral-atom qubit gates and entangling gates.
• Strong data management and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience modelling open quantum systems using QuTiP, Mathematica, MATLAB, Python.

Responsibilities

• Own the Network System Architecture and all system specifications for Neutral Atoms.
• Provide technical leadership for qubit control, optical systems, and performance targets.
• Model high-fidelity remote entanglement and networking protocols with AMO input.
• Collaborate across departments to shape QC system roadmaps and delivery.
• Represent Nu Quantum at conferences and industry events.
