Job summary

The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne is seeking a Quality and Safety Coordinator to promote patient safety culture, support accreditation readiness, and drive quality improvements across the unit.

You will work with clinical leads and multidisciplinary teams to analyze data, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance with NSQHS standards within a dynamic hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in nursing, allied health, or related discipline.
• Experience with VHIMS Riskman software.
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a small team, or independently.
• Experience working with diverse groups of people.
• Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications (SharePoint/Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Organisational and time management skills to manage concurrent priorities.
• Commitment to safety and quality with necessary clearances.

Responsibilities

• Assist and oversee end-to-end reporting and investigation of adverse events, near misses, and other incidents through VHIMS.
• Investigate serious adverse patient safety events including root cause analysis.
• Analyse quality indicator data and prepare reports for hospital leadership.
• Assist in ensuring regulatory compliance and accreditation standards are met.
• Assist with accreditation preparation and evidence management for ACSQHC NSQHS standards.
• Coordinate and oversee the Prompt document management system.
