Job summary

The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital is seeking a Quality and Safety Coordinator to promote patient safety culture and support NSQHS accreditation readiness. You will work with clinical leads and management to investigate adverse events and prepare quality reports for leadership.

This role requires a tertiary health qualification, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in nursing, allied health, or related discipline.
• Demonstrated clinical or health service experience.
• Excellent, well-developed written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a small team, as well as independently.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse range of people.
• Experience with VHIMS Riskman software.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Sharepoint/Teams, Outlook, Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Assist and oversee the end-to-end reporting and investigation of adverse events, near misses, and other incidents related to patient safety through VHIMS Riskman.
• Investigate, administer, and report on serious adverse patient safety events including participating in formal reviews using root cause analysis.
• Analyse quality indicator data, patient outcomes, and safety incidents through the preparation of reports for hospital leadership to track performance.
• Assist in ensuring hospital adherence to healthcare regulations, legislative requirements, accreditation standards, and quality benchmarks.
• Assist with accreditation preparation and maintenance of evidence requirements to meet ACSQHC NSQHS standards.
• Coordinate and oversee the Prompt document management system.
