Job summary

Metricon Homes Qld. is seeking a qualified carpenter or builder to join for a 12-month contract, collaborating with site managers to conduct quality assurance checks on new home builds in Brisbane. The role emphasizes timely QA inspections, process improvements and delivering high standards of customer service.

You will promote safety, ensure compliance with Australia Standards and NCCs, and work with electronic project management systems to address quality issues and support our business goals.

Qualifications

• Must be qualified carpenter or builder with Building/Construction Diploma.
• Experience in residential home volume building is desirable.
• Able to complete QA checks within specified timeframes.
• Strong knowledge of Australia Standards, NCCs and building regulations.

Responsibilities

• Complete Quality Assurance Checks as per standard procedures and processes.
• Complete Quality Assurance Checks within specified timeframes.
• Work with management to research, develop and implement systems to address quality issues.
• Ensure customer service strategies deliver exemplary service.

We require a qualified Carpenter or Builder to come onboard for a 12 month contract, partnering with our experienced Site Managers to further strengthen our business and Construction team to complete checks on our new home builds

Your responsibilities will include:Complete Quality Assurance Checks as per standard procedures and processes

Complete Quality Assurance Checks within specified timeframes

Working with management to ensure appropriate systems, processes and procedures are researched, developed and implemented to address and improve quality issues that directly contribute to the Business Unit’s bottom line performance

Ensuring that appropriate customer service strategies are maintained to deliver exemplary customer service

Promote and observe Company Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures; and

Ensure that our customers are treated with respect and their queries/concerns are addressed with a sense of urgency.

The successful candidate will have:Must be qualified carpenter or builder, with completion of relevant tertiary education e.g. Building/Construction DiplomaWorking knowledge of residential home volume building industry is highly desirable

Able to complete Quality Assurance Checks within specified timeframes

Able to promote and observe Company Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures

Have a thorough exposure to process improvement along with solid practical experience in working with quality programs

Outstanding customer service with professional communication skills (both written and verbal)An understanding of Australia Standards, NCC’s and building regulations

Knowledge of electronic project management systems; and

Current drivers licence.

12 months contract (however high potential to extend to permanent)
