Job summary

Visy Recycling is seeking a driver based at our Gibson Island depot, operating heavy rigid waste collection vehicles across the Brisbane metro. The role requires a current HR licence and a strong focus on safety, with duties including pre-trip checks, on-time collections, and in-cab reporting.

Hours are 5am starts with 10–12 hour shifts, five days per week, with optional weekend work. You’ll be part of a team committed to safety, vehicle maintenance, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• HR licence with at least 2 years' recent Australian driving experience.
• Full 5-year demerit point history report required.
• Strong safety, time management and teamwork skills.
• Solid knowledge of road, fatigue and load restraint laws.
• Care for presentation and maintenance of trucks and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate HR heavy rigid waste collection vehicles across Brisbane metro.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
• Ensure timely collection and delivery of materials per schedules.
• Complete in-cab electronic reporting and required docs.
• Comply with policies and regulations incl Fatigue Management.
• Collect CDS containers.

Role Details

Routes: Collecting from our Customer network delivering to Visy sites in Brisbane surrounding areas.

Locations

Based out of our Gibson Island depot

Hours

5am start 10-12hour shifts 5 days per week (optional Saturday and Sunday work)

What you'll do

• Operating Heavy Rigid rear lift waste collection vehicles performing collections of Recyclable materials from our network of Customers, throughout Brisbane metro area.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections to ensure your vehicle is roadworthy and compliant.
• Ensure timely and efficient collections and delivery of materials, maintaining adherence to schedules.
• Accurately complete in-cab electronic reporting systems and other required documentation.
• Comply with all company/site policies and state and national transport regulations, including Fatigue Management and Chain of Responsibility laws.
• Collection of CDS containers.

What You Will Bring

• A valid HR Licence with minimum of 2 years’ recent Australian driving experience.
• Provide a full 5-year demerit point history report.
• Excellent communication, time management skills and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• A comprehensive understanding of road, fatigue, and load restraint laws.
• Pride in the presentation and maintenance of trucks and equipment.
