Job summary

Visy Group is seeking a dedicated driver for the Melbourne recycling network, based at the Dandenong Depot. The role involves operating HR licence vehicles, performing pre-trip checks, and ensuring on-time collections across greater Melbourne.

You will complete in-cab reporting, adhere to fatigue and load laws, and contribute to a safety-focused, collaborative team. This position offers regular hours with potential weekend work and a strong emphasis on presentation and vehicle maintenance.

Qualifications

• Valid HR Licence with minimum 2 years' driving experience.
• Full 5-year demerit history report required.
• Strong safety mindset and teamwork.
• Solid understanding of fatigue and load restraint laws.

Responsibilities

• Operate Heavy Rigid rear lift waste collection vehicles for Recyclable materials across Greater Melbourne.
• Perform thorough pre-trip inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
• Ensure timely and efficient collections, adhering to schedules.
• Complete in-cab electronic reporting and required documentation.
• Comply with transport regulations and company policies, including Fatigue Management and Chain of Responsibility.
• Collect CDS containers as required.

Role Details

Routes: Collecting from our Customer network delivering to Visy sites in Melbourne and outer Melbourne regional areas.

Locations: Based out of our Dandenong Depot.

Hours: 5am start 10-12hour shifts 5 days per week (optional Saturday and Sunday work)

What you'll do

• Operating Heavy Rigid rear lift waste collection vehicles performing collections of Recyclable materials from our network of Customers, throughout Greater Melbourne area.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections to ensure your vehicle is roadworthy and compliant.
• Ensure timely and efficient collections and delivery of materials, maintaining adherence to schedules.
• Accurately complete in-cab electronic reporting systems and other required documentation.
• Comply with all company/site policies and state and national transport regulations, including Fatigue Management and Chain of Responsibility laws.
• Collection of CDS containers.

What You Will Bring

• A valid HR Licence with minimum of 2 years' recent Australian driving experience.
• Provide a full 5-year demerit point history report.
• Excellent communication, time management skills and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• A comprehensive understanding of road, fatigue, and load restraint laws.
• Pride in the presentation and maintenance of trucks and equipment.
