Job summary

Mode Talent Group Australia is assisting a Tier One proprietary trading firm in Sydney to hire an experienced Python software engineer to build the systems behind their trading. You'll write production Python across trading infrastructure, research and simulation platforms, data pipelines, post-trade analysis, and the tooling traders rely on daily.

You'll work directly with traders, researchers and C++ engineers to turn ideas into reliable, well-engineered systems.

Qualifications

• Strong Python with production software experience.
• Experience with NumPy and pandas for large data workflows.
• Grounding in Linux and distributed systems.
• Experience in trading, market data or high-performance data systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Write production Python across trading infrastructure, research and simulation platforms, data pipelines, post-trade analysis, and the tooling traders rely on daily.
• Work directly with traders, researchers and C++ engineers to turn ideas into reliable, well-engineered systems.
• Own end-to-end components with emphasis on design, testing and performance.
