Job summary

Perilya is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing & Supply Officer to join our Broken Hill operations. You will process purchase requisitions and orders, source materials, and coordinate inventory, warehousing and supplier invoices to keep underground mining and processing running smoothly.

Suitable candidates will have experience in purchasing, warehousing or supply chain in heavy industry, strong admin skills, and familiarity with ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing, warehousing, inventory control or supply chain operations.
• Experience in mining, heavy industry or similar industrial environment.
• Proficient admin and data entry skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Pronto or similar.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders to meet operational requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers to source materials, expedite deliveries and manage lead-time changes.
• Coordinate receipting, storage, issuing and despatch of inventory and consumables.
• Conduct stocktakes and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Verify supplier invoices and assist with resolving purchasing discrepancies.
• Support warehouse operations, stock control and materials handling activities.
• Ensure hazardous goods and inventory are stored and managed safely.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, warehouse organisation and inventory security.
• Provide responsive support to Mining, Processing, Maintenance and other departments.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across purchasing and supply functions.

About the Role

Perilya's Broken Hill Operations is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing & Supply Officer to join our Supply team. Reporting to the Supply Supervisor, you will be responsible for procurement, inventory control, warehouse operations, and supplier coordination to ensure critical materials and services are available to support our underground mining and processing operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with purchasing, warehousing, inventory control or supply chain experience who enjoys working in a dynamic mining environment and delivering exceptional internal customer service.

About You

• Previous experience in purchasing, warehousing, inventory control, logistics or supply chain operations.
• Experience within mining, heavy industry or a similar industrial environment.
• Strong attention to detail and administration skills.
• Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience using ERP systems such as Pronto or similar inventory and purchasing systems.
• Current driver's licence.
• Forklift licence (highly regarded).
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.
