Job summary

Perilya is seeking a Jumbo Operator for our Underground Mining team at Broken Hill. This residential role offers the chance to contribute to safe and productive development of our underground mine in NSW.

Ideal candidates will bring demonstrated Jumbo drilling experience, underground tickets, and a proactive safety mindset, with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience operating Jumbo drills in an underground mining environment.
• Underground mining tickets and equipment operation tickets.
• A proactive attitude to safety and risk identification.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating Jumbo development drills in line with site procedures and targets
• Performing setup and installation of ground support and services
• Pre-start checks and routine maintenance of drilling equipment
• Monitoring ground conditions and identifying hazards
• Working closely with the shift supervisor and other underground personnel
• Accurately completing shift reports and development records

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Jumbo Operator to join our Underground Mining team at our Southern Operations in Broken Hill. This position offers the chance to work as part of a high-performing team, contributing to the safe and productive development of our underground mine.

This is an excellent opportunity for multi-skilled underground miners who are ready to take the next step or further their career in jumbo operation. You'll play a key role in advancing production targets while maintaining safety, equipment care, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operating Jumbo development drills in line with site procedures and targets
• Performing setup and installation of ground support and services
• Pre-start checks and routine maintenance of drilling equipment
• Monitoring ground conditions and identifying hazards
