Job summary

Allset Engineering Pty Ltd in Riverstone, NSW is seeking a experienced Purchasing / Stores Manager to lead procurement, inventory and stores operations on a full-time basis. You will drive supplier sourcing, negotiate contracts, oversee stock control and ensure timely material flow across the manufacturing facility.

Reporting to senior management, the role requires strong negotiation, ERP experience, and the ability to optimise costs while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Job description

Allset Engineering Pty Ltd is seeking a Purchasing / Stores Manager to join our team on a full-time basis at our Riverstone, NSW location. This is a pivotal role within our manufacturing and logistics operations, responsible for overseeing all aspects of procurement, inventory management, and stores operations. You will play a crucial strategic role in ensuring efficient supply chain management, cost optimisation, and the seamless flow of materials and components throughout our manufacturing facility. This position reports directly to senior management and site team leaders and is integral to maintaining our operational excellence and supporting our manufacturing objectives.

Key responsibilities

Managing all purchasing activities, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring competitive pricing for materials and components

Overseeing inventory management systems and ensuring accurate stock levels, tracking, and reconciliation across the stores

Receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming goods, ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications

Coordinating with production, engineering, and finance teams to forecast material requirements and plan procurement schedules

Maintaining organised stores facilities and implementing efficient systems for material storage, identification, and retrieval

Managing supplier relationships and performance, including communicating with vendors regarding delivery schedules and quality issues

Preparing and analysing purchasing reports, inventory reports, and cost analyses to identify savings opportunities and improve efficiency

Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the stores and procurement operations

Training and supervising stores personnel, including administrative and warehouse staff as required

Managing budget allocation for materials and supplies, minimising waste and maximising value for money

What we’re looking for

Proven experience in purchasing and inventory management, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment

Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and inventory control systems

Proficiency with inventory management software and ERP systems

Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain positive supplier relationships

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on cost reduction and process improvement

Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively

Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to supervise and develop team members

Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively across all departments

Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental compliance requirements in manufacturing and stores operations

Tertiary qualification in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field is desirable

Experience with manufacturing processes and technical components is highly regarded
