Job summary

Frontline Construction Recruitment in Sydney NSW is seeking a hands-on Purchasing Operator to manage buying across timber and hardware operations. You will keep stock levels healthy, nurture supplier relationships, and help the business grow.

You will negotiate terms, forecast stock, identify slow-moving items, and work with sales and warehouse teams to ensure accurate stock movement and reporting. This role offers Monday to Friday work, no weekends, with a base salary around 90K plus

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing or inventory control, ideally in hardware, building, or trade supply.
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
• Practical, organised approach with solid attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate well with suppliers and internal teams.
• Confidence using systems and data to forecast stock and reduce over-ordering.

Your day-to-day

• Keep on top of stock levels; order what's needed, when it's needed

• Identify and manage slow-moving or excess stock to minimise waste
• Keep sales and warehouse teams updated on product changes or new arrivals
• Work closely with inventory and operations to ensure accurate stock movement and reporting
