Job summary

Responsibilities

• Manage local procurement activities from requirements clarifications, sourcing, RFQs to purchase orders and close-out.

• Monitor overdue orders and coordinate deliveries with warehousing, logistics and project teams.
• Maintain procurement records, supplier documentation and invoice reconciliation.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Local Purchaser to manage end-to-end local procurement activities supporting facility and project operations. The role will manage supplier sourcing, RFQs, commercial evaluations, purchase orders, expediting, delivery coordination and procurement close-out while ensuring compliance with project procedures and delegated authorities. The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Warehouse, Logistics, Finance, Project Controls, Quality, HSE, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely, cost-effective and reliable supply of materials, equipment and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage local procurement activities from requirement clarification, supplier sourcing and RFQs through quotation evaluation, purchase orders, expediting and close-out.
• Source and evaluate local and regional suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing, quality, compliance, lead times and delivery requirements.
• Raise and administer purchase orders, ensuring correct scope, quantities, pricing, approvals, delivery terms and project requirements.
• Monitor and expedite critical and overdue orders, coordinating deliveries with Warehouse, Logistics, Engineering and project teams.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier documentation, invoice reconciliation and procurement status reporting while ensuring compliance with project procedures.

Skills Required

• Strong experience in purchasing/procurement and supply chain, preferably within construction, infrastructure, power, mining, manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Hands-on expertise in RFQ preparation, quotation evaluation, commercial comparison, supplier negotiation, purchase orders and expediting.
• Proficiency with SAP or equivalent ERP/procurement systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Strong commercial judgement, supplier management, risk identification, prioritisation and attention to detail.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across Engineering, Warehouse, Logistics, Finance, Project Controls, suppliers and subcontractors.
