Job summary

Benmax is seeking an experienced Buyer to manage day-to-day purchasing for our Fabrication division and help scale the procurement function as production ramps up.

You will handle raw materials, BOM components and high-value assemblies for large-format equipment, coordinating with multiple vendors and managing long-lead and international orders to align with schedules.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated purchasing experience including PO management, expediting and supplier delivery performance.
• Experience purchasing engineered, technical, project-based or BOM-driven goods.
• Experience maintaining data integrity within an ERP or system of record.
• Strong coordination skills and ability to deliver under schedule pressure.
• High level of organisation and attention to detail across engineering, planning, receiving and finance.
• Experience with international purchasing and imported materials.
• Familiarity with RFQ processes and supplier evaluation.
• Knowledge of long-lead and oversize component procurement.
• tertiary qualifications in supply chain or related discipline.
• CIPS qualification or progress toward one.

Responsibilities

• Raise, acknowledge and expedite purchase orders against production and project schedules.

• Monitor supplier delivery performance and expedite orders as needed.
• Maintain item, pricing and supplier data in the ERP and ensure accurate postings.
• Resolve PO, receipt and invoice discrepancies with finance and receiving.
• Support sourcing activities including RFQs and supplier onboarding.
• Contribute to cost tracking, savings and supplier reviews.
• Assist in establishing purchasing processes, controls and PO discipline.
• Identify supply risks and long-lead items and communicate through S&OP planning.

Benmax is entering a significant growth phase, with production ramping up and procurement spend set to increase substantially. We are seeking an experienced Buyer to manage day-to-day purchasing for our Fabrication division and contribute to the development of the procurement function as it scales.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, this role is responsible for purchasing raw materials, bill of materials (BOM) components and high-value engineered assemblies for large-format equipment. Much of this work involves multi-vendor assemblies, long-lead components and international supply, requiring careful management of each order. You will operate within the sourcing strategy set by the Head of Procurement & Inventory and ensure materials are delivered in line with build and project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Raise, acknowledge and expedite purchase orders against production and project schedules, working to part number and revision level
• Purchase raw materials and BOM components in line with the production schedule, managing long-lead items and maintaining supply without over-ordering
• Monitor supplier delivery performance, expedite orders and resolve shortages and delays promptly
• Maintain accurate item, pricing and supplier data in the ERP, and ensure receipts and purchase transactions post correctly to the inventory ledger
• Resolve purchase order, receipt and invoice discrepancies in collaboration with finance and receiving
• Support sourcing activities including RFQs, quote comparisons, supplier evaluation and onboarding
• Contribute to cost tracking, savings capture and supplier performance reviews
• Assist in establishing and documenting purchasing processes, controls and PO disciplines
• Identify supply risks and long-lead items and communicate them through the S&OP planning process
