Job summary

Thiess Mount Pleasant Operation is seeking an experienced pump hand / pit services operator with open cut experience. You will work a dayshift only lifestyle roster 5/4 4/5 5/5 that includes weekend work, performing pump dewatering tasks, HDPE pipeline welding (desirable), and recording service data on equipment.

The role emphasises safety, teamwork and reliability in a dynamic mining environment with opportunities for training and development.

Qualifications

• Dewatering competency and experience preferred.
• Chainsaw ticket and poly welding ticket preferred.
• Experience operating heavy equipment (D10/D11 dozers, small excavator or front-end loader) preferred.
• Basic Rigging Licence preferred.
• Good communication and safety focus.
• Self-motivated with ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessment and inspections of dewatering pumps.
• Complete the welding and installation of HDPE pipelines (desired but not essential).
• Complete accurately and timely service recording data on equipment.
• Complete basic effective maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with statutory legislation.

About the role

• Dewatering Competency and Experience (desired)

• Chainsaw ticket, Poly welding ticket and experience in Poly welding (desired but not essential)

• Experience/Qualifications for operation of D10/D11 dozers, small excavator or front-end loader (civil experience desired)

• Basic Rigging Licence (desired)

• Good communication skills with the willingness to be part of a high-performance team

• Commitment to the highest safety, community and environmental standards

• Initiative and a flexible approach to work, with a proactive approach and productive mindset

• Ability to work to direction and be self motivated, with experience working within a team environment
