Job summary

Thiess is seeking experienced Diesel Fitters for Olive Downs Complex, Bowen Basin, QLD. You will maintain, repair and service mobile plant equipment, performing diagnostics, fault finding and breakdown repairs to support safe mining operations.

The role offers a permanent full-time roster of 7/7 with 12-hour day and night shifts, bus transport options, and camp facilities, plus ongoing training within a modern autonomous mining setting.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Diesel Fitting or equivalent.
• Post-trade experience in mining or heavy earthmoving.
• Experience in maintenance, breakdowns, component change-outs and servicing of heavy earthmoving equipment.
• Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Current Driver Licence.
• Current Standard 11 is desirable.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Demonstrated commitment to a positive safety culture.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Diesel Fitter with a strong commitment to safety and maintaining heavy mining equipment? Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Diesel Fitters to join our high-performing team at the Olive Downs Complex in Queensland’s Bowen Basin.

As a key member of the Olive Downs maintenance team, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing and servicing a range of mobile plant equipment, supporting safe, reliable and efficient mining operations.

Roster: 7/7 Days/Nights | Location: Olive Downs Complex, Bowen Basin, QLD | Employment Type: Permanent Full-time

As a Diesel Fitter, you will:

• Safely maintain, repair and service a variety of mobile plant equipment in line with Thiess and industry standards.
