Penguin Random House New Zealand invites applications for a Production Coordinator/Controller on a parental leave contract in our North Sydney office. You will support the production process across print and ebook formats, coordinating timelines, budgets and quality standards.

Reporting to the Production Manager – Adults, NZ and BD, you will handle file preparation, quotes, and printer liaison, while maintaining bibliographic records and archives.

Competenze

• Previous production, publishing or design experience.
• Familiarity with Macintosh environment, including good working knowledge of the Adobe suite.
• Curiosity and possess organisational and numeracy skills.
• Deadline driven and able to manage competing priorities.
• Attention to detail and able to work both independently and as a part of a team.

Mansioni

• Manage the book production processes, ensuring titles are delivered to budget, deadlines and agreed quality levels.
• Creation and processing out of layout files and PDFs. Distribution of files to project editors and signing off material for print.
• Obtain quotes and negotiate with printers for non-grid titles to ensure best possible price and quality.
• Work across Adult, NZ and Business Development lists, on both print and ebook as well as reprints and POD as needed.
• Provide creative input and guidance to the supported publishing divisions.
• Managing both hard copy and digital archives, recalling files when needed.
• Updating of bibliographic system as required.
