Job summary

Penguin Random House Australia Pty Ltd in North Sydney is seeking a Production Coordinator or Controller on a parental leave contract to support book and reprint production. You will report to the Production Manager – Adults, NZ and BD and help ensure titles meet deadlines, budgets and quality.

This role covers layout file processing, quotes with printers, collaboration across Adult, NZ and Business Development lists for print, ebook and POD, and management of both physical and digital archives,

Qualifications

• Experience in production, publishing or design.
• Familiarity with Macintosh and Adobe suite.
• Strong organisational and numeracy skills.
• Deadline-driven with ability to manage priorities.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage book production to meet budget, deadlines and quality.
• Create and process layout files and PDFs; distribute to editors.
• Obtain quotes and negotiate with printers for non-grid titles.
• Work across Adult, NZ and Business Development lists for print and ebook.
• Provide creative input to publishing divisions.
• Manage hard copy and digital archives; recall files as needed.
• Update bibliographic system as required.
