Job summary

Strathfield Council is seeking a motivated Project Support Officer to help deliver place activation, town-centre improvements, events and grant-funded projects. You will coordinate planning, engagement, implementation, monitoring and reporting across Council and external partners.

The role requires strong organisation, stakeholder engagement and data‑driven evaluation to improve public spaces and local economic development. Part-time 21 hours per week with salary scales and progression.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Events, Economic Development, Engagement or related discipline and/or extensive industry experience.
• Experience coordinating projects with multiple workstreams, stakeholders and deadlines.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate place‑making projects in line with schedules, funding requirements and guidelines.
• Support project planning, implementation, trial activations, evaluation and acquittal activities.
• Monitor project progress, actions, dependencies and risks.
• Engage with local businesses, community members, event organisers and stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, progress reports and grant records.
• Monitor project expenditure and support financial and grant reporting.
