Job summary

NSW Government in Sydney is seeking a contract Payroll Specialist to support a large onboarding program. You will ensure timely fortnightly payroll processing, validate data, reconcile figures, and coordinate with shared services to resolve payroll queries.

Immediate start through Christmas with exposure to SAP Payroll and HRIS platforms. Strong attention to detail and collaboration with HR, Finance and payroll teams are essential for success.

Qualifications

• End-to-end payroll experience, ideally within government/public sector.
• Strong ability to validate and reconcile payroll data.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing.
• Experience with SAP Payroll; exposure to Workday is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end preparation and coordination of fortnightly payroll.
• Review and validate employee data, timesheets, leave balances, allowances, deductions and salary changes.
• Deliver payroll reconciliations and resolve discrepancies before and after processing.
• Act as liaison with shared services providers, managing payroll enquiries and escalations.
• Maintain payroll controls, compliance documentation and audit requirements.
• Support payroll data integrity and ensure employee records are accurate.
