Job summary

The NSW Ombudsman is seeking a Whistleblower Support Specialist (Clerk Grade 7/8) to provide information and support to people making public interest disclosures under the PID Act. The role emphasises clear communication, independent and team work, and a solid understanding of the Ombudsman’s statutory functions.

Qualifications

• Strong communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience analysing sensitive matters.
• Ability to navigate legislation and explain processes.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Understanding of the statutory functions and work of the NSW Ombudsman.
• Tertiary qualifications such as law or social work or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and support to people who have made or are seeking to make a public interest disclosure (PID).
• Assist PID holders to understand pathways after raising concerns of serious wrongdoing.
• Communicate complex legislation in plain language to diverse audiences.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent PID handling and case progression.
