Job summary

Shangri-La Sydney is seeking a dedicated Public Area Attendant to maintain cleanliness and presentation of our hotel’s public spaces. You will work as part of the Housekeeping team to ensure guest areas consistently reflect the luxury and hospitality of our brand.

The role requires attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work a rotating roster, weekends and holidays. Training and development opportunities, employee accommodation and staff discounts are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning in hospitality preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer-focused approach.
• Ability to perform manual handling and rotate shifts.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all public areas including lobbies, corridors, restrooms, lifts, function spaces, and employee areas.
• Ensure all public spaces are presented to the highest standards at all times.
• Replenish amenities and supplies in public restrooms and common areas.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and housekeeping service requirements.
• Report maintenance issues, hazards, and lost property in a timely manner.
• Assist with special cleaning projects and deep-cleaning schedules.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and hotel brand standards.
• Work collaboratively with Housekeeping and other operational departments.

About the Role
