Job summary

MAYDAY Recruitment is partnering with a leading Australian insurer to recruit an experienced Property Underwriter to join their North Sydney team. You will own a diverse Strata Property portfolio, balancing technical risk with commercial decision-making and strong broker relationships.

You’ll manage new business and renewals, assess exposures, pricing, terms and coverage, and collaborate with claims, risk and internal teams to deliver optimal client outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience underwriting Commercial Property risks.
• Strong knowledge of property products, risk assessment, pricing and policy coverage.
• Proven ability to manage broker relationships and develop new business.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

The Opportunity

You’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of Strata Property risks across new business and renewals, working closely with brokers to develop tailored insurance solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

About You

We’re looking for an experienced Property Underwriter who combines strong technical capability with a commercial and relationship-focused approach.

You’ll ideally bring:

  Previous experience underwriting Commercial Property risks
• 
  Strong knowledge of Property products, risk assessment, pricing and policy coverage
• 
  Proven ability to manage broker relationships and develop new business
• 
  Strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills
• 
  Excellent communication and stakeholder management capability
• 
  A proactive approach to portfolio management and business development
• 
  The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative team
• 
  Relevant insurance qualifications such as ANZIIF or CIP will be highly regarded
