Job summary

Kempsey Shire Council in Kempsey, NSW is seeking a Property Officer to support administration and management of Council-owned properties. You will assist with leases, licences, contractor coordination, and maintenance while delivering high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders.

We value organised, approachable candidates with strong communication skills. Minimum qualifications include a Certificate III/IV in relevant fields and experience in property or contract administration,

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Ability to learn and use multiple specialised software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Handle customer enquiries and a range of operational and administrative tasks across the property portfolio.

Job description

Are you organised, practical and customer-focused, with an interest in property and asset management?

We are seeking a motivated and organised Property Officer to join our Commercial Business team. This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative and customer service skills who has an interest in property, facilities, leasing, or local government operations.

As the Property Officer, you will support the administration and management of Council-owned and managed properties. You will assist with leases and licences, contractor coordination, maintenance activities, compliance processes, customer enquiries, and a range of operational and administrative tasks across the property portfolio.

Working closely with the Senior Property Manager and Property Coordinator, you’ll contribute to the efficient management of community and commercial assets while delivering high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders.

About You:

We’re looking for someone who is organised, approachable and enjoys working with a wide range of people. You’ll be comfortable balancing competing priorities and have a strong eye for detail.

  • Certificate III or IV in Business Administration, Property Services, Local Government, Project or Contract Administration, or relevant experience.
