Prestige Refrigeration & Air Conditioning in Brisbane seeks a Quantity Surveyor / Project Coordinator to join a growing commercial mechanical team. The role covers estimating, procurement, and delivery, with responsibility across commercial performance and project variation management.

The successful candidate will understand mechanical services, HVAC and construction processes, coordinating with management, site teams, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure commercial success of projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in Quantity Surveying, Estimating, Contract Administration or Project Coordination.
• Strong understanding of mechanical services, HVAC and commercial construction is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Prepare estimates, take-offs and project costings.
• Review budgets and monitor costs during delivery.
• Prepare variations and progress claims.
• Procurement of mechanical equipment, materials and subcontractors.
• Coordinate equipment deliveries with project programmes.

About the Role

Prestige Refrigeration & Air Conditioning is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Project Coordinator to join our growing commercial mechanical team.

This is a key role within the business, suited to someone who understands mechanical services, HVAC and commercial construction and can confidently manage projects from estimating and procurement through to delivery and final account.

You’ll work closely with management, site teams, builders, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure projects are commercially controlled, properly coordinated and delivered successfully.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing mechanical drawings, specifications and tender documentation




• Preparing estimates, take-offs and project costings




• Reviewing project budgets and monitoring costs throughout delivery




• Preparing and managing variations and progress claims




• Procurement of mechanical equipment, materials and subcontractors




• Comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations




• Coordinating equipment and material deliveries with project programmes




• Assisting with project scheduling and construction programmes




• Liaising with builders, clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors




• Monitoring project costs, margins and commercial performance




• Maintaining project documentation, registers and records




• Identifying commercial risks and potential variations early




• Assisting with RFIs, design coordination and project correspondence




• Supporting site teams to keep projects moving efficiently




• Assisting with project handover, commissioning documentation and O&M requirements




• Managing project close-out and final accounts

About You

We’re looking for someone who is organised, commercially aware and comfortable taking ownership of multiple projects.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience in Quantity Surveying, Estimating, Contract Administration or Project Coordination




• Experience within mechanical services, HVAC, construction or a related trade industry




• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and contracts




• Experience with project costing, procurement, variations and progress claims




• Strong Excel and general computer skills




• Excellent organisation and attention to detail




• Strong written and verbal communication skills




• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines




• A practical understanding of how construction projects operate on site




• Experience with Simpro or similar project management software would be highly regarded

Mechanical/HVAC industry experience will be strongly preferred.
