Job summary

Bayside Health is seeking a Project Officer – Improvement to join the EVO Program at The Alfred Hospital. You will design and implement initiatives to enhance patient flow, ambulance offload efficiency and hospital coordination, working with operational leaders and the project lead.

The role supports statewide priorities and exposes you to Alfred Health ORA development, with a focus on real-time visibility and operational decision-making.

The Project

Bayside Health is delivering a series of access and flow initiatives under the Emergency, Virtual Care & Outpatient (EVO) Program, aligned with statewide priorities including the Timely Emergency Care Project.

These initiatives aim to:

• Strengthen emergency access
• Enhance hospital-wide coordination through improved digital visibility and process redesign

The Role

The Project Officer – Improvement (EVO Program) is a key member of the Emergency, Virtual Care & Outpatients Program, working closely with operational leaders and the Project Lead to design and implement initiatives that improve patient flow, ambulance offload efficiency, and hospital coordination.

The position supports the delivery of projects aligned with the Department of Health’s statewide priorities Timely Emergency Care Project, while gaining exposure to the development of Alfred Health ORA, which shares the same objectives of enhancing real-time visibility and operational decision-making across Alfred Health.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilise a creative, problem-solving approach to support teams in the design of practical, evidence-based solutions that anticipate future needs and deliver high quality sustainable healthcare improvements.
• Apply creative problem-solving and structured improvement methods to design practical, evidence-based solutions that improve access and flow
• Provide project management support for key improvement initiatives across the EVO Program, using a suite of service improvement tools.
• Ensure efficient management of work within agreed timeframes and outcomes.
• Ensure monitoring and timely reporting of project progress, outcomes and issues to project team.
• Collect, analyse and monitor data as required.
