Job summary

Bayside Health in Melbourne's Alfred campus is seeking a Facilities Coordinator to oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance across the Alfred Care Group sites. You will lead building and engineering activities, support the Facilities Manager, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance for patients, staff and visitors.

The role requires strong project management, experience with CMMS, and a background in healthcare facilities management, including CAPEX planning.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare regulatory compliance (health, safety, building codes).
• Strong project management with CAPEX planning ability.
• Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Background in healthcare facilities management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance for building and engineering functions across Alfred Care Group sites.
• Provide leadership support to the Facilities Manager to maintain high standards of facilities across sites.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and provide a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
• Coordinate maintenance activities and support small capital works as needed.

The Department

The Engineering & Facilities Department are responsible for the maintenance of buildings, infrastructure and plant, facilities compliance and some minor capital works

The Team & Role

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Facilities and engineering, the primary purpose of the Facilities Coordinator is to oversee the day to day operations and maintenance activities for building and engineering functions across all Alfred Care Group sites. The Facilities Coordinator provides leadership support to the Facilities Manager in ensuring that all facilities are maintained to the highest standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards in the healthcare sector, including health and safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
• Strong project management capabilities, including the ability to manage small-scale projects, prepare capital expenditure (CAPEX) plans based on asset condition and life cycle, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Previous experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), including implementation and maintenance
• Background in facilities management, particularly within the healthcare sector
• Additional technical certifications or qualifications in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or medical gas systems.
