Public Sector People are partnering with a local government organisation to recruit for a Project Support and Improvement Officer on a 6-month contract with an immediate start. The role includes coordinating project schedules, managing the Council’s Project Management System and delivering admin support across project services.

Responsibilities cover developing documentation, meetings, stakeholder engagement and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration, Project Management or a related field, or demonstrated contemporary experience in a similar project administration role.
  • Current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence.
  • Experience identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and business practices.
  • Experience preparing project reports, documentation, presentations and other project management materials.
  • Strong project coordination and administration experience, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High-level experience using project management systems/software and Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collate and present information clearly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project administration support, including maintaining project schedules and coordinating communication.
  • Administer Council’s Project Management System including configuration, access and reporting.
  • Provide training, troubleshooting and ongoing support to internal users.
  • Develop, maintain and review project management documentation, templates and processes.
  • Provide administrative support to managers and department heads, including meetings and documentation.
  • Coordinate communications and engagement activities across the team, ensuring required admin tasks are done.
  • Support business improvement initiatives, including benchmarking and process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement innovative solutions.
  • Provide admin support for funding agreements and monitor deliverables.
  • Liaise with internal teams and stakeholders to gather and provide timely project information.

Job description

Public Sector People are partnering with a local government organisation to recruit for anProject Support and Improvement Officer.

Contract: 6 months | Immediate Start

Hourly Pay Rate: $54 p/h + Super

Responsibilities:
  • Provide project administration support, including maintaining project schedules, monitoring key milestones and dates, and coordinating communication across project teams.
  • Administer Council’s Project Management System, including system configuration, user access and role management, project reporting, testing and system integrations.
  • Provide training, troubleshooting and ongoing support to internal users and project services staff.
  • Develop, maintain and review project management documentation, procedures, templates and processes.
  • Provide administrative support to the Manager Project Services and Department Heads, including coordinating and minuting meetings and maintaining project documentation.
  • Coordinate communications and engagement activities across the team, ensuring relevant administrative requirements are completed.
  • Support the implementation of business improvement initiatives, including benchmarking, best practice reviews and process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and assist with implementing innovative solutions to improve team performance and outcomes.
  • Provide administrative support for funding agreements and monitor project requirements to ensure deliverables and obligations are met.
  • Liaise with internal teams and stakeholders to gather, maintain and provide accurate and timely project information.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • Certificate IV in Business Administration, Project Management or a related field, or demonstrated contemporary experience in a similar project administration role, supported by ongoing professional development.
  • Current Class C NSW Driver’s Licence.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and business practices.
  • Experience preparing project reports, documentation, presentations and other project management materials.
  • Strong project coordination and administration experience, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
  • High-level experience using project management systems/software and Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collate and present information clearly to different audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to independently assess, prioritise and respond to issues as they arise.
