Project Officer - Knowledge & Innovation
  • Join Hospitality and Racing a division within the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport
  • Clerk Grade 7/8 with a salary range of $116,971 - $129,492 per annum plus superannuation
  • Ongoing role based in Sydney, NSW
About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Officer to join our Knowledge & Innovation team. In this role, you will help shape how knowledge is managed, maintained and improved across Hospitality & Racing. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of knowledge products that support the regulation of hospitality and racing industries in NSW.

You will analyse legislation, policies, procedures and operational information, translating complex requirements into clear, practical and user focused guidance materials that support consistent decision making and regulatory compliance.

Working closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders, you will identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen knowledge resources and ensure information remains accessible and fit for purpose. You will also contribute to the ongoing review, governance and continuous improvement of knowledge assets, helping to maintain a trusted and compliant knowledge environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining analytical thinking, project coordination and knowledge product development to deliver meaningful outcomes within a regulatory environment.

About You

You are an organised and collaborative professional with experience developing and maintaining knowledge products including standard operating procedures work instructions, governance templates or other operational documentation.

You have strong written communication skills and can confidently interpret complex legislation, policies or procedures and translate them into practical, user-friendly resources. You are detail orientated and take pride in ensuring information is accurate, consistent and aligned to governance standards.

You Will Bring:
  • Experience in knowledge lifecycle management, business improvement, project coordination or operational policy and procedure development.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks, gaps and opportunities to improve business processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working effectively with subject matter experts to identify requirements, validate content and support implementation.
  • Experience reviewing, developing and maintaining standard operating procedures, work instructions, templates, process documentation or other operational knowledge resources.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality knowledge products, strong governance practices and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working within a regulatory, compliance or policy environment, and an understanding of knowledge lifecycle management, will be highly regarded.
