Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport in Sydney is seeking a Senior Media Advisor to provide strategic media and communications guidance to government stakeholders and Ministerial Offices.
You will craft compelling content, identify opportunities, and lead media strategies to deliver timely, effective communications across channels.
About the role
As Senior Media Advisor, you will be a trusted media and communications specialist, providing strategic advice on emerging issues, opportunities and media responses. You will work closely with senior government stakeholders and Ministerial Offices to understand priorities, anticipate risks and deliver timely, effective communications.
You will bring stories to life by identifying opportunities, developing compelling media strategies and using data, research, case studies and story talent to create engaging content that resonates with audiences.
You will also build strong relationships with journalists and media outlets, coordinate media events and conferences, and collaborate across the communications portfolio to ensure key messages reach the right audiences through contemporary and targeted channels.

You are a confident media professional who can operate effectively in a complex and high-profile environment. You understand the pace and sensitivities of government communications and can provide calm, strategic advice when issues are evolving quickly.
