Job summary

Premier’s Department in Sydney seeks a Project Officer (Clerk Grade 7/8) to drive delivery for Aboriginal communities. You will build relationships with Aboriginal communities and government stakeholders, manage projects, engage communities, and report on progress.

The role offers a base salary of AU$116,981–$129,492 per annum, plus super and leave loading, with base in Mascot until September 2028. We value diverse backgrounds and encourage applications even if you don't meet every requirement.

Qualifications

  • Some experience supporting project initiatives or service delivery projects, including contributing implementation and evaluation activities.
  • Ability to engage and communicate effectively with government, community and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated awareness of and ability to communicate respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, with an understanding of issues that may impact communities.
  • Ability to analyse information, identify practical solutions and contribute to advice that supports program and reform outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate effectively across teams, agencies and communities.

About the Role

The Project Officer is part of a team responsible for delivering community infrastructure outcomes for Aboriginal communities. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with Aboriginal communities and government stakeholders across New South Wales. Key responsibilities include project management, community engagement, cross-government coordination and liaison, monitoring and reporting, and developing policy and funding initiatives.
