About the Role

Reporting to the Construction Manager or Project Superintendent (project dependent), the Senior Project Engineer will support the safe and efficient delivery of site‑based mining projects including mine site developments, infrastructure upgrades, sustaining capital works and operational expansion projects.

The role supports project execution through the coordination of engineering, contractor and construction activities to ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved scope, schedule, quality and operational requirements.

Acting as a key interface between site teams, contractors, consultants and operational stakeholders, the Senior Project Engineer will support construction delivery, project controls, commissioning and operational handover activities throughout all project phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support delivery of site‑based construction and project activities in accordance with approved project scope, schedule and quality requirements.
• Coordinate engineering, contractor and operational interfaces to support efficient project execution.
• Monitor project progress and identify risks, constraints and delivery issues.
• Support implementation of project execution plans, delivery strategies and construction methodologies.
• Coordinate work fronts, material availability and construction sequencing activities.
• Support commissioning, operational readiness and operational handover activities.
• Coordinate contractor activities and support day‑to‑day site execution requirements.
• Monitor contractor performance against project scope, schedule, quality and safety requirements.
• Support cost control, forecasting and progress reporting activities.
• Maintain project documentation, action registers and reporting systems.
• Assist with change management, variation tracking and risk management processes.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with client, company and regulatory requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and operational stakeholders.
• Facilitate coordination meetings, contractor interfaces and technical discussions as required.

About You

Demonstrated experience in project engineering, construction coordination or project delivery within the mining, resources or infrastructure sectors.

Proven experience supporting mine site developments, infrastructure upgrades and sustaining capital projects within operational mining environments.

Experience coordinating contractors, engineering activities and site‑based work fronts.

Experience working within client‑side, owner’s team, EPCM or contractor delivery environments.

Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project delivery processes and operational interfaces.

Familiarity with project controls, scheduling, reporting and change management processes.

Experience supporting commissioning, operational readiness and handover activities.

Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements relevant to mining project delivery.

Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement and coordination skills.

Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capability, with a practical, solutions‑focused approach to delivering outcomes in dynamic project and site environments.

High levels of accountability, professionalism and ownership for project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline desirable.
• Project Management or Construction Management certification advantageous.
• Current Driver’s Licence.
• Construction White Card.
• WA Statutory Supervisor’s Certificate advantageous.
• Relevant mine site inductions and site‑based competencies advantageous.
