Job summary

Verve Partners in Newcastle is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial and industrial construction projects from pre-construction through handover. You will drive delivery, manage budgets and lead site teams to meet quality and safety standards.

You will liaise with clients, coordinate subcontractors and maintain strong relationships across the project, while ensuring timely reporting and compliance with WHS policies.

Qualifications

• Proven project management experience within commercial and/or industrial/structural construction.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules and sub-contractors.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Sound understanding of WHS requirements and quality assurance standards.

About the Company

Verve Partners is working with a well-established construction business delivering commercial and industrial construction projects across the Newcastle and Hunter region. This is a hands-on Project Manager role covering project delivery, cost control and quality management from pre-construction through to handover.

About the Role

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of commercial and industrial/structural construction projects, working closely with Site Supervisors and project teams to ensure work is delivered on time, on budget and to a high standard of quality.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing daily programming and managing project schedules, budgets and resources


• Interpreting client needs and maintaining strong client relationships throughout delivery


• Overseeing quality control, including inspections against plans, specifications and relevant building codes


• Managing changes to project scope, schedule and costs, including variations and claims


• Coordinating and managing sub-contractors and site personnel


• Ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, site safety management plans and company policy


• Producing progress reports and administrative documentation as required

About You

• Proven project management experience within commercial and/or industrial/structural construction


• Sound construction knowledge, including reading and interpreting drawings and specifications


• Relevant tertiary qualification in construction management or project management


• Strong understanding of WHS requirements and quality assurance standards


• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules and sub-contractors


• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills


• Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and problem-solve under pressure
