Job summary

Forefront Recruitment is partnering with a construction technology leader to hire a Project Manager | AI-Forward Deployment Engineer. The role blends construction delivery expertise with practical AI applications, translating observations into a deployable operating system for clients.

You will work directly with owners, directors and site managers, visiting Melbourne sites and regional Victoria to map workflows and drive adoption.

Project Manager | AI-Forward Deployment Engineer

After years of delivering commercial construction or fit-out projects, you may be wondering what comes next. Another project, another builder and another small salary increase probably does not feel like much of a move.

This is something genuinely different.

You will take everything you know about construction delivery and use it to help builders introduce practical AI into their businesses. You will spend time in their offices and on their sites, learning how work moves from tender through to handover, where information gets lost, what causes delays, and which repetitive tasks could be handled more intelligently.

You will then translate what you have uncovered into a clear scope for an internal technology team to build and install an operating system around that business. This could improve how they manage variations, invoices, site diaries, emails, reminders, outstanding payments, and other administrative work that is still handled manually.

There is no coding involved. Your value is your construction judgement, your ability to understand how a business operates and your credibility with owners, directors, Project Managers and Site Managers.

The business behind the technology also operates commercial construction companies, so this is not a software start-up trying to understand the industry from the outside. The technology has been created by people who run builders themselves and is installed around the way each client already works.

You could be a Project Manager, Senior Contract Administrator, Estimator or former construction business owner from the Tier 3 space. You may have delivered smaller commercial or fit-out projects, introduced new systems into a business or already found ways to incorporate AI tools and connected technology into your own work.

You will not be considered unless you have the above experience.

You will need to be naturally curious, an excellent listener and able to turn several days of conversations into something clear and actionable. You should also enjoy dealing directly with business owners and be comfortable travelling throughout Melbourne and occasionally regional Victoria.

The role carries a competitive base salary plus superannuation, with meaningful commission linked to successful client installations and retention.
