Job summary

ARA Mechanical is seeking a Project Manager in Sydney to lead HVAC projects from inception through closeout. You will develop plans, manage budgets and schedules, coordinate with engineers, subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure safety and quality across sites.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a proven HVAC project track record. On-site work in NSW with travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience in HVAC project management preferred.
• Proven track record managing HVAC projects of varying sizes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans including scope, schedule, budget and resource allocation.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, subcontractors and suppliers to meet requirements.
• Oversee procurement of materials and equipment for timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure safety and quality compliance.
• Manage project documentation including submittals, RFIs, change orders and progress reports.
• Develop and manage project budgets, track expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare and submit invoices and progress billings accurately and on time.
• Negotiate and manage subcontractor and supplier contracts.
• Lead and motivate project teams with clear direction and support.
• Serve as main point of contact for clients, architects, engineers and subcontractors.

This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and exceptional communication skills to manage project teams, budgets, schedules, and client relationships. The Project Manager ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

About you

• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Aconex etc).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret standards, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Valid driver's license.
