Morson Edge Australia is seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to own commercial mechanical projects across Sydney. This hands-on role requires taking responsibility from handover through construction, commissioning and final handover, on projects typically ranging from $500k to $5m.
You will manage budgets, coordinate design and installation, and lead site teams, subcontractors and stakeholders to deliver on time and within budget in a fast-paced, smaller contracting environment.
An established and growing Sydney mechanical contractor is looking to appoint an experienced HVAC Project Manager to take ownership of commercial mechanical projects across Sydney. This is a hands‑on Project Manager position suited to someone who has come through the mechanical/HVAC contracting environment and is comfortable taking genuine responsibility for projects from initial handover through construction, commissioning and final completion. The business delivers mechanical projects generally ranging from $500k to $5m and offers the opportunity to work closely with the Directors and construction team in a fast‑moving environment without the layers of a large corporate contractor.
The RoleAs Project Manager, you will take end‑to‑end responsibility for the successful delivery and commercial performance of your projects.
We’re particularly interested in Project Managers with a strong understanding of commercial HVAC and mechanical services. Ideally, your technical experience will include a combination of: Chilled‑water systems, Chillers, pumps, AHUs and FCUs, VRV/VRF and DX systems, Packaged air‑conditioning equipment, Mechanical ventilation and ductwork, Refrigeration pipework, BMS and controls, Mechanical electrical interfaces, Testing and commissioning. You don’t necessarily need to be an engineer. Candidates who have progressed from a HVAC trade, Site Manager, Supervisor or Project Engineer background into Project Management are strongly encouraged to apply. What is more important is that you understand how mechanical projects are actually delivered on site and are comfortable getting involved when issues need to be resolved.
This role will particularly suit someone who enjoys working in a smaller, hands‑on contracting environment where you can make decisions, solve problems and have a genuine impact on project outcomes.
