Job summary

Tjiwarl Contracting Services is a Perth-based, Aboriginal-owned company delivering mining, civil, and infrastructure projects. The Project Manager will oversee end-to-end delivery, budgets, schedules and client requirements across multiple sites, with regular travel to the Northern Goldfields and occasional out-of-hours work.

The role reports to the Operations Manager, coordinating teams, subcontractors and Indigenous business participation while maintaining safety and contractual compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate mobilisation, delivery and demobilisation of assigned projects from contract award through to completion.
• Develop project execution plans, schedules, resource plans, procurement requirements and reporting frameworks.
• Coordinate internal resources and subcontractors to ensure projects are properly established and ready to deliver.
• Identify project risks, dependencies and constraints early and escalate material issues to the Operations Manager.
• Manage day-to-day delivery of multiple projects and work packages across mining services and infrastructure.
• Ensure project scope, milestones, client KPIs, quality requirements and contractual obligations are achieved.
• Manage subcontractor performance, interfaces and deliverables, including supporting Indigenous businesses to meet project requirements.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, with escalation to the CEO, the Project Manager is accountable for the successful end-to-end delivery and commercial performance of assigned projects and the pipeline of works across the mining and infrastructure sectors. The role turns operational requirements into clear plans, schedules, budgets and accountabilities while coordinating project teams, subcontractors and client requirements.

This Perth office-based, full-time role requires regular travel to project and operational sites in the Northern Goldfields, with some out-of-hours contact and site presence. Work-from-home arrangements may be agreed where operational requirements allow. The successful candidate will bring disciplined project controls, strong commercial judgement and a commitment to delivering safely, on time, within budget and to the required standards.

Key responsibilities:

Plan and coordinate the mobilisation, delivery and demobilisation of assigned projects from contract award through to completion.

Project Delivery and Contract Management

Manage day-to-day delivery of multiple projects and work packages across mining services and infrastructure and related activities.

Ensure project scope, milestones, client KPIs, quality requirements and contractual obligations are achieved.

Manage subcontractor performance, interfaces and deliverables, including supporting emerging Tjiwarl member businesses to meet project requirements.

Manage variations, scope changes, delays and project issues in accordance with contract requirements and delegated authority.

Maintain accurate project documentation, records, registers and close-out information.

Manage project expenditure against approved budgets and maintain clear visibility of committed and forecast costs.

Monitor productivity, utilisation, margins and cost-to-complete and provide timely forecasts to the Operations Manager and Finance Manager.

Ensure timesheets, purchase requirements, subcontractor claims and project billing information are accurate and submitted on time.

Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency, margin and delivery outcomes.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

Work closely with the Safety Manager to ensure project activities are planned and delivered safely and in accordance with TCS systems and client requirements.

Ensure project teams and subcontractors comply with WHS, environmental, quality, cultural and contractual requirements.

Participate in project risk assessments, incident reviews, audits and continuous improvement activities.

Ensure project activities respect cultural requirements and expectations when working on Tjiwarl Country.

Stakeholder and Workforce Coordination

Maintain strong working relationships with client representatives, subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders.

Coordinate workforce requirements with the Operations Manager and support Tjiwarl employment, training and business participation objectives.

Provide clear direction and performance expectations to project personnel and contractors.

Represent TCS professionally at project meetings, site meetings and operational forums.

Reporting

Provide weekly and monthly project reports demonstrating strong governance and performance of projects with clear safety, program and financial indicators.

Maintain project dashboards, action registers and forecasts to support management and Board reporting.

Experience:

Demonstrated project management experience in mining services, civil, contracting or related sectors.

Proven experience managing project mobilisation, execution and close-out in regional or remote operating environments.

Strong experience in scheduling, resourcing, subcontractor management, cost control, forecasting, risk management and performance reporting.

Experience managing multiple work packages, contractors and client interfaces concurrently.

Experience working with developing contractors and Indigenous businesses.

Knowledge:

Strong knowledge of project management principles and practical project controls.

Sound understanding of contract administration, variations, project financial controls and performance measurement.

Knowledge of WHS, environmental, quality and compliance requirements relevant to site based project delivery.

Awareness of Indigenous employment, business participation and cultural considerations when working on Country.

Special Conditions:

A Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s License and National Police Clearance.
