Job summary

Emeco International seeks a Maintenance Supervisor within 3 hours of Mackay to lead heavy earthmoving equipment maintenance for mining operations. You will oversee a team, coordinate preventative maintenance, and ensure timely repairs while meeting safety and QA/QC requirements.

You will manage staffing, mentor staff, and liaise with clients and stakeholders to achieve site objectives. A trade certificate and mining certifications are required, with at least 5 years in a managerial maintenance

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years heavy workshop and field maintenance experience in a managerial capacity.
• Extensive experience maintaining heavy earth-moving equipment used in mining.
• Trade certificate and relevant mining certifications.
• Ability to lead, mentor and delegate across sites.
• Strong communication across all organisational levels.
• Solid understanding of HSET standards in QLD mining.

Responsibilities

• Manage the performance and availability of equipment to achieve objectives.
• Coordinate employees and facilities for preventative maintenance and repairs in a timely, cost effective and professional manner.
• Ensure adequate manning levels and equipment to perform planned tasks.
• Prepare monthly project reports including safety, performance, manning and QA/QC.
• Lead maintenance team, providing leadership and technical support.
• Support site HR activities including recruitment of potential employees.
• Demonstrate and promote high safety awareness and safe work practices.
• Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to meet organisational objectives.

What your day looks like:

• Manage the performance and availability of equipment to achieve both operational and financial company objectives.
• Manage and co-ordinate employees and facilities to ensure preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs are performed in a timely, cost effective and professional manner.
• Monitor and ensure the necessary manning levels and equipment are available to perform the planned tasks.
• Ensure project reporting is completed: monthly project progress reports to the client and internally including safety, performance, manning, and QA/QC.
• Take responsibility for maximising the performance of the maintenance team, providing leadership and technical support.
• Support site-based HR activities including recruitment of potential employees.
• Actively demonstrate and promote a high level of safety awareness and encourage safe work practices
• Working with Emeco customers and stakeholders to meet larger organisational objectives.

What we’ll need from you:

• A relevant, nationally recognised Trade certificate, holding extensive experience with the maintenance of heavy earth moving equipment frequently utilised within the mining industry.
• Mining Supervisor Certifications – G1, G8, G9 and G2.
• Standard 11 Competency.
• Minimum 5 years heavy workshop and field maintenance experience in a managerial capacity, being a strong leader with the ability to mentor, coach, and delegate tasks
• Ability to influence and communicate effectively across all layers of an organisation and with any stakeholder group.
• Set and implement clear standards of integrity, consistently dedemostrating behaviours supporting organisational values and address inappropriate behaviour actions.
• Proven strong client management and liaison skills, holding a good understanding of customer operations and equipment usage.
• Knowledge of what drives equipment productivity in the mining environment.
• Solid understanding of HSET standards within QLD mining.
