Job summary

MacKellar Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead a frontline team on a permanent 7/7 rotating day/night roster. The role reports to the Maintenance Superintendent and focuses on safe, efficient maintenance to protect fleet reliability on a long-life mining operation.

Based in Queensland, the position offers FIFO from Townsville or Rockhampton, camp accommodation, meals, PPE, and strong career development within a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Australian recognised trade qualification as Diesel Fitter or equivalent.
• Mining supervisor certificates G1/G8/G9 and Standard 11.
• RIIRIS402D risk management qualification.
• Queensland Coal Board Medical certification.
• Current Queensland Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of maintenance personnel in a safe, productive environment.
• Coordinate planned and breakdown maintenance across the fleet.
• Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule and within budget.
• Promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership and compliance.
• Complete maintenance reporting, documentation and daily work management tasks.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance equipment reliability and workshop performance.
• Build strong working relationships across maintenance and operations teams.

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our Maintenance team on a permanent 7/7 rotating day and night roster.

Reporting into the Maintenance Superintendent, you'll provide frontline leadership to ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard while supporting fleet reliability and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of maintenance personnel in a safe, productive environment
• Coordinate planned and breakdown maintenance activities across the fleet
• Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule and within budget
• Promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership and compliance
• Complete maintenance reporting, documentation and daily work management activities
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and workshop performance
• Build strong working relationships across maintenance and operations teams

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Australian recognised Trade Qualification (Diesel Fitter or equivalent)
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Supervisor within a mining environment
• Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and team development
• Current Mining Supervisor G1, G8 & G9 (formerly S1, S2 & S3)
• Current G2 - Carry Out the Risk Management Process (RIIRIS402D)
• Current Standard 11 (or ability to obtain)
• Current Queensland Coal Board Medical (or ability to obtain)
• Current Queensland Driver Licence
