Job summary

Waidt Services Australia seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from planning through handover. You will drive safety, quality, budgets and schedules while coordinating consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in the property and construction industry, 4+ years delivering commercial design and construction projects, strong NCC/WHS knowledge, and a proactive, remote-capable leadership style with solid stakeholder

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ experience in the property & construction industry.
• 4+ years’ experience as a Project Manager delivering commercial design & construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects through the full lifecycle.
• Proven experience working remotely to deliver complex projects.
• Experience delivering projects valued between $500K–$10M.
• Strong working knowledge of the NCC, Australian Standards and WHS requirements.
• Sound commercial acumen, including budgeting, contracts, procurement and cost control.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A practical, solutions‑focused approach with a high level of ownership and accountability.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
• Qualifications in project management, engineering, facilities management or a related discipline.
• Trade qualification with relevant experience (considered in lieu of degree).
• Hold an AGSVA NV2 security clearance (highly regarded) or the ability to obtain one employed.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial construction projects from planning and design through to completion and handover.
• Lead project budgets, programmes, procurement, contracts, variations and reporting.
• Coordinate consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal delivery teams.
• Prepare and manage construction programmes, project management plans and delivery strategies.
• Proactively manage project risks, issues, defects and stakeholder expectations.
• Oversee procurement activities, including scopes of work, consultant appointments and trade packages.
• Manage RFIs, design coordination and changes to ensure programme, cost and quality outcomes are maintained.
• Ensure compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC), relevant Australian Standards and applicable WHS legislation.
• Drive safety, quality and programme performance across all stages of delivery.
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide clear, consistent reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, audits and quality systems in line with company standards.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and key internal and external stakeholders through clear, proactive and professional communication

• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment with agreed scope, programme, budget and quality outcomes
• Prepare and present project information, reports and recommendations to support informed decision‑making
• Maintain a high standard of client service and contribute to repeat work and long‑term client relationships

About you
