Job summary

Prime Recruitment & Consulting is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex projects across commercial, education, health and social infrastructure in Melbourne. You will own project delivery from feasibility through handover, coordinating design teams, procurement, and construction while maintaining scope, cost and schedule.

The role requires 5+ years of PM experience, strong stakeholder management, and a practical, solutions-focused approach to drive project success.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in project management, gained within an ideal mix of head contractor, client-side, consultancy or a property organisation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Construction, Property, Architecture, Engineering or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience managing building projects through multiple stages of the project lifecycle
  • Strong capability across design management, procurement, contract administration and construction delivery
  • Experience delivering public sector, government or social infrastructure projects would be highly regarded
  • Strong commercial awareness and an ability to manage project budgets, programmes and risk
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • The confidence to manage consultants and contractors and represent the client effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to see both the detail and the bigger picture

Responsibilities

  • Project planning, feasibility and development of project strategies

  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
  • Managing project programmes, milestones and deliverables
  • Identifying and managing project risk and value-engineering opportunities
  • Procurement and appointment of consultants and construction contractors Managing tender processes, evaluations and recommendations
  • Overseeing construction delivery and contractor performance
  • Monitoring budgets, cost plans, forecasts and project reporting
  • Contract administration and superintendent responsibilities where required
  • Managing stakeholder consultation, communication and project governance
  • Driving project meetings and ensuring actions and decisions are followed through
  • Managing commissioning, practical completion, defects and final handover

This established specialist project management consultancy has built an excellent reputation across the Australian property sector, partnering with clients to deliver complex and meaningful projects across commercial, education, health, aged care, social infrastructure and government.

With a strong pipeline of work and continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join their collaborative team.

This is an opportunity for a capable PM who enjoys taking genuine ownership of projects and working closely with clients. You’ll manage projects across the full project lifecycle, from early stage planning, feasibility and design through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover. Working as the key link between the client, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders, you’ll be responsible for keeping projects moving, identifying and managing risk, driving decisions and ensuring programme, cost and quality objectives are achieved.

About you
