Project Manager | Take on 2 new projects kicking off early 2027 | Brisbane
About the company
W Talent is partnering with a well-regarded, independently owned Queensland builder that delivers commercial, industrial, mixed-use, health, education and childcare projects across South East Queensland and Northern NSW. The business is led by an experienced director with a tier-two contracting background and has grown steadily on the strength of repeat clients.
The company delivers through design and construct, early contractor involvement and construct-only models. It brings consultants, subcontractors and suppliers in early so that buildability is designed in from the start rather than fixed on site.
The projects
Project Managers are being appointed to lead one of two Brisbane projects starting in early 2027. You’ll be matched to the project that best suits your experience:
- Fortitude Valley commercial development (under $20M): a modest value but technically demanding build in one of Brisbane’s most sought-after precincts. It has a single-level basement, ground floor, two levels of office and a rooftop bar, on a tight inner-city site. It involves significant pre-construction work ahead of a January/February 2027 site start.
- City fringe industrial development (approx. $50M): a large-scale industrial project close to the CBD, with a February/March 2027 site start.
Pre-construction is a major part of the role on either project, and the workload starts well before the site opens.
The role
- Lead your project from pre-construction through to completion and handover
- Drive design development, buildability input, programming and procurement planning
- Manage the head contract, client relationship and reporting throughout the project
- Develop and manage the program, with particular focus on basement, structure and services sequencing
- Oversee procurement, trade packages and subcontractor engagement with the contract administration team
- Control budgets, cost reporting, forecasts, variations and progress claims
- Coordinate consultants and resolve design and technical issues
- Lead and support Site Managers, Contract Administrators and the broader project team
- Maintain safety, quality and environmental standards
- Manage defects, commissioning, practical completion and final account close-out
